Endodontic retreatment is performed when a tooth that has been previously treated with a root canal shows signs of persistent infection, symptoms, or incomplete healing.
The goal is to preserve the natural tooth by addressing the underlying cause.

How to prepare before your appointmen
Eat normally before your visit unless advised otherwise
Inform us if you experience swelling, fever, or increasing pain.
Bring any relevant dental records or previous X-rays if available
After the treatment
Temporary tenderness is possible and usually short-lived
Avoid chewing hard foods on the treated tooth until advised
A definitive restoration (such as a crown) is often recommended after retreatment
Important information
Endodontic retreatment aims to save a previously treated tooth, but success depends on tooth condition, patient healing and proper restoration. Depending on the tooth and clinical situation, this treatment may be partially reimbursed .
In some cases, alternative options may be discussed if retreatment is not predictable.

After-Care Instructions
You have just undergone endodontic retreatment to remove persistent infection and disinfect the root canal system. Mild to moderate discomfort is normal.
Immediately After Treatment
Avoid chewing until numbness has completely worn off
Be careful not to bite your cheek, lip, or tongue
Eating
Avoid chewing on the treated tooth
Eat soft foods
Avoid hard or sticky foods
Do not use the tooth for heavy chewing until the final restoration is placed
